NY Ski Magazine: Interview with Admin

Over the years, I've picked up pieces of the story about how Admin ended up living in SLC. For a while, Jamesdeluxe has been talking about how cool it'd be to get his story down. During his visit to the Wasatch last month, he and Admin sat down and the full story was told. The result is, IMO, a really well written piece (no surprise coming from James) with some nice ski pics, including a few by Bobby Danger and Skidog.

Anyway, thought this group might appreciate the heads up and a link to the story:

Nice work James!

Oh, the vanity!

Nicely done, James. Folks, I'll be signing autographs at the door.

Denver is a great city, but I’d be two hours away from skiing and four hours on Sunday nights with all the traffic on I-70.

Marc, Marc, Marc.......... you need to stop over this way more often... It's only 4 hrs on Sat am or Sun pm when it's snowing :-D Just ask Tony about Vail Pass in April :-$

Good write up James. It definitely fills in a number of blanks. I really wasn't paying all that much attention back then, but vaguely recalled the Jay Peak guide and some of the early incarnations of No Bull reports before FTO became what it is today.

Well done. Marc (from Jay to FTO) and James (for this piece). =D>

Ah...writing on skiing before ski website/forums. In the early 1990s, I remember reading and writing in the newsgroups days of the rec.skiing then it became rec.skiing.alpine, etc etc.

I'm sure glad that Al Gore invented the internet.

Marc, you talked about skivt-l, but I'm kinda surprised at the lack of mention of the old Compuserve Ski forum. You were very active there and where we first met. You had even sent me your Insider's Guide to Jay Peak.

Good point. Limited time and space, limited memory.

Marc...very nice write up! I did not know you had spent SOOO much time in the east. So I know you feel our pain when we suffer through a snowless season back here. Wish I coulda enjoyed the freshies in SLC over last weekend....

There are some parts of the East that are worst than others...unless you like snowless winter, warm temps and the odd hurricane like many of my older compatriots.

I think James should interview the posse next.
It seemed criminal not to have a LCC-related feature and I decided that an interview with a SLC homie was the best way to do it. My big quandary was whether to make Admin or Bobby D the subject of the article.
:-D
