Well, it was better than I thought it would be. Even though we've received lots of snow in the last few weeks, last Sunday a warm front came in and it rained. The snow was glazed with a shiny rain crust but the groomers did their work and the surfaces today were quite nice. Some fruit salad but mostly firm cordoroy. A majority of the lower hill was open and they even had Outback open. It had better coverage today than it did 'till mid-February last season.
I'm sure the conditions will wither with the ski traffic especially if this high pressure stays in place. It's good we saw a steady slow buildup to the present depth by multiple storms. You always seem to get better coverage than if it comes all in one dose.
We used Alpine skis today as it seemed a little loud to use decks. The Nordic skate skiing is sure to be good until the next storm.
