ParkCity might get evicted from its mountain

... and not open next year. While that seems unlikely, it is what PCMR states in its own PR release. They are suing Talisker, owner of Canyons.
Apparently, most of the skiing acreage at Park City Mountain Resort is owned by Talisker. Park City has a long term lease on it which either expired or did not expire. Probably, Talisker is squeezing its cross-town rival for much different terms to get a competitive advantage. This odd bed-fellowship is due to Talisker having purchased a mining company that originally owned the land. I believe, Empire Canyon area at Deer Valley may be in a similar situation.

Details are sketchy but one likely outcome is higher prices at both resorts to pay litigation costs. One lawyer close to the negotiations smugly declared, "All your bases are belong to us".
