Pats Peak, NH 3/2/02

As part of my effort to ski all the ski areas in New England, I decided to take the quick trip up to Henniker from Boston to knock Pat's off my list!
Cute little place. TONS of kids everywhere! Looked like lot's of local families getting out to enjoy the day. Not sure if they have a special program for the little ones there or what, but there were lots of 2-3 year old looking kids learning the sport-they were doing a pretty darn good job too! No fear at that age I guess!
Conditions were pretty good considering the lack of snow in the southern 1/2 of New Hampshire. The sun softned up the snow by 10am or so. A few very small bare spots here and there, but overall good, yet thin cover. I'm bad with trail names, but the bump run under the blue triple looks as though it has the best snow depths due to what looked like round the clock early season snowmaking. The rest of the place probably has a 6 inch base. If tomorrow's weather forcast holds true, Pat's Peak may be a hurting place next week.
All in all, good day. Nothing too challenging, but it was fun to get some turns in!
