PCMR Ski Free Deal

While researching my February ski trip, I found out that the Park City resorts are offering free lift tickets on the same day as your flight if you present your boarding pass and register at the following site:

http://www.parkcityinfo.com/skiing/quickstart/

You will need to supply some info on the site and print out a redemption voucher which, together with your boarding pass entitles you to ski free at one of the PC resorts (PCMR, Deer Valley, Canyons). Not valid for Utah residents or on certain dates.

In our case, we'll be arriving in the morning and will have the entire afternoon to ski for free at PCMR. :D

I just got a call from my friend Richard, who arrived at the Park City base in drizzle and was informed that the boarding pass/free half day lift ticket deal is not applicable.

The link in the post above shows that the promotion has blackout dates: the Christmas holidays and a longer stretch from President's weekend to late March.

Read the fine print and plan ahead before you decide where to ski. Richard is stuck with a $60 half day in variable snow. With today's weather he should have gone to Brighton or Solitude anyway.

We got a free day at Park City using this program when we arrived SLC on 1/11/07. You have to register in advance and arrive when valid.

We took earliest available flight from SJC and arrived SLC a little after 9 during heavy snowstorm. After quick stops to get baggage and rental cars, we drove by Canyons Sports to pickup discount tickets for Deer Valley, The Canyons and Snowbird where we skied the rest of our days there. We saw a couple of cars spin out in SLC, but did not have problems getting to Park City where we were on the slopes well before noon. Park City had 3-6" new and we were surprised that it could snow that hard when temperature was 9 degrees.

Between the combination of not knowing the resorts well and thin snow this January in Utah, we all did some damage to our skis. Following picture is my buddy on Portugese Gap on Jupiter Lift.
