I got to the meeting spot about 10 min. late and missed Admin and crew. I did see Bobby Danger and Amy Z in the Hidden Lake liftline awhile later, but lost sight of them at the top. I still had a great day.
I would rather ski powder at PowMow a day after a storm than fight for scraps at one of the bigger name areas. The runs aren't as steep and there is more work involved in getting to some of them, but that's better than dealing with tracked out lines at 10:00 AM on a powder day.
I didn't do the cat skiing option today, although that was probably my loss, by the looks of Admin's video. I still got in over 20k vert. of mostly powder.
This trip was my first one on wider skis (BD Zealots from 2011)- Wow, what a difference! My legs didn't get very tired, and I was able to deal with occasional crust/set up snow better. Groomers skied quite well with them, too.
