The boarding is PHAT at Purgatory. On Monday we rode through appx. 5" of fresh powder that softened the concrete underneath to a very carvable condition. Both groomers and ungroomed steeps were in very good condition. Terrain park's not open yet but we've got a base of several feet. No brown, no grinders.

Weather was 20 deg, clear as a bell, no wind, but chilly. People, This resort is EMPTY midweek. The new six-pack on the frontside is scheduled to open 12/22 and may god help management if it's not open for the Texans on Christmas. Advanced boarders will find powder stashes underneath chair #8 and below Dante's - check out Cathedral Tree way. On the frontside Airmail & Coolit usually provide afternoon powder. Chair #5 not opened yet so look for powder there then cut back to #8.

The best part: For Wednesday 12/13 Take a look at the Weather Channel snowfall forecast. They're predicting 6-12" overnight in a storm centralized RIGHT OVER DURANGO! Wax that board and move those bindings all the way to the rear of your board!

This UNBIASED report by Wade Nelson, Durango CO I have no connection or commercial interest in Purgatory other than riding !
