Red Mountain, Big Red Cats and Whitewater Feb 28 - March 5

Six of us just returned from a dream vacation. Six powdery days, very cool vibe, quaint mountain towns. No crowds, lift lines or compeition for fresh snow. We had fresh snow every run until the lifts closed. Red was awesome with it's steep glades and Whitewater was a powder skier's fantasy. Cat skiing is just a semi private foray in the fresh snow.

Nice write-up! This humble Western New Yorker and his wife recently had their first backcountry experience courtesy of a snowcat. (TR here) That second to last picture of the skier in the green jacket carving down the sparsely gladed run is absolutely drool worthy!

Awesome trip report PQ - Hey, how many Nelsonites does it take to change a light bulb?....31
1 to hold the bulb, and 30 to smoke enough dope that the room spins

The green clad skier is my best ski sister Pam.

Loved the Nelson joke. We all shared jokes in the snowcat and that one never came up. Good one!

That is exactly where I heard it on my visit there on Feb 1...I've heard many variations of the years
