That's quite a masochistic TR. However anyone who read the Baldy TR's from Dec. 24 or Dec. 26 should have been warned off. FYI the summit of Baden-Powell is 9,300. I was hoping to read how high the rain/snow line was in the San Gabriel Mts, but since they only got to 8,200 we don't know.
My off trail explorations at Bear Mt. yesterday did indicate that in the San Bernardino Mts the rain did not get above 7,500 or so. I think the backcountry types should be considering the San Gorgonio Wilderness.
