snowshoed up to hermit lake saturday and skied the sherburne. weather was god awful. never been so cold in my entire life and i was well prepared. there were people up there that werent prepared, they must of really been hurting. temp was 20 below, wind was howling, didnt even ask the caretake what the speeds were. i didnt want to know. it was 40 below with the windchill. couldnt see the bowl at all, hillmans was visible but it could use some snow. sherburne was very variable. ice, harpack, pow, windblown, hard pack, rock, it was all there. it was fun, not sure if it was worth it, as i am just begining to get feeling back in my toes.
