Ski Tune Questions...

Ok, so living in New York has its drawbacks besides the obvious. I am no longer willing to wait to go to the mountain to tune my skis, nor do I annoyingly want to lug my skis downtown and pay $40 to have them tuned. I would be willing pay for equipment and lessons to learn how to tune my own skis. Does anyone know of any classes in NYC for this, or know how to go about learning how to tune your own skis?

That said, ski tuning is part science, part art. The Tognar Toolworks (http://www.tognar.com/) catalog has lots of useful tips and is a good source. Another good source is Reliable Racing Supply (http://www.reliableracing.com/) which has the added benefit of a retail store just off I-87 between Glens Falls and Lake George on Rt. 9 in Queensbury, NY for when you're heading up that way.
