Just a quick early morning set of runs for my 1st consecutive days on skis. I felt good when I rolled out of bed, so why not? There was a still chill when I first arrived. Temperature = 4F, wind = 0mph. I'll take it. A lot of freshly groomed stuff was available, but a lot was left alone too. Thomkes Express was left with pockets of loose powder, along with a little ice in between. Found myself on Bootlegger, which of course is all natural snow. More broken powder all over and far less ice. I whispered back & forth here with a smile beginning to appear. I was showing some improvement.

That led to the search for some reasonable woods to jump into. Red Fox Glades is a good place to start. Not very lengthy and rated blue. It hadn't been skied much at all. My turns began to quicken and became less work with a fast progression. It was all float all the way and far easier than anything else I've done so far. As a bonus, the sun peeked through the clouds from behind me and I got to chase my shadow through the trees. The run was over too soon. I wanted to do another, but I need to get to work earlier than I did yesterday. So at least I left on a high note, which I can build on tomorrow.
