Just got in a couple of hours at Smuggs, but they were certainly high quality ones! <FONT COLOR="ffff00">Bright sun</FONT>, upper 20s, no wind, and crowds not too bad despite a full parking lot and school vacation week. The last two days of dumping snow have left the snow pack so deep in the <FONT COLOR="119911">woods</FONT> that normally open lines are actually tighter now because of all the forest canopy ducking you <BR>have to do. No kidding! <BR> <BR>The snow is fairly heavy, consolidated, and wind worked in places, so no real face shots, but tons of untracked still abound in the usual places. On-trail conditions are superb, in all but the gnarliest spots like Upper FIS. Just a few pictures, nothing special... <BR> <BR><IMG SRC="http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus2/messages/8/926.jpg" ALT="View of Mansfield from Sterling Pond Shelter"> <BR> <BR><IMG SRC="http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus2/messages/8/927.jpg" ALT="Soft, heavy snow in the Back Bowls"> <BR> <BR><IMG SRC="http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus2/messages/8/928.jpg" ALT="15 foot drop off a boulder; note the landing marks (not mine!)">
