Day 73: That's all she wrote.
Today was a virtual repeat of yesterday with just a few changes:
I left again at 10:15 today, just as the Entry 2 lot was filling up with closing-day revelers. Utah's lift-served season is now officially finished. I probably am, too, although if this forecast Thursday-Friday storm delivers in a big way I may skin for it, but I doubt it.
Today was a virtual repeat of yesterday with just a few changes:
- We took a lap on the tram first because Heather heard from another patroller that Regulator was "pretty good." We obviously have a different definition of "pretty good" for it was a run of linked "pivot-slide" turns on bulletproof corduroy farmed into an undulating moonscape, complete with moon rocks (groomer balls) and craters. I'm sure it was fine by 10 a.m. or so.
- We skied Backside a full 30 minutes ahead of what the clock showed yesterday, but with no intermittent cloud cover and without the stiff breeze it was softening earlier. Today we timed it perfectly.
- The earlier softening also meant that post holing on the walk to Sugarloaf Pass was more prevalent.
- We had two more along for our Alta lap, Heather's friends Mike and Lisa.
