Day 28: Happy birthday to me!
Scoring powder turns on your birthday is a treat, so I went up to Snowbird early afternoon for about 90 minutes in Gad Valley. Snow was gorgeous with 24 inches of medium density new, but I just wasn't clicking. I thought maybe it was from burning the candle at both ends, or maybe skiing alone -- I'm always more dialed in when skiing with others -- but whatever it was it just wasn't happening despite the snow.
It turned out it was a stomach virus germinating. Oh, well.
Anyway, skiing alone I left the camera at home, but I took a couple of silly cell phone pics anyway.
But before the pics, let's recap the season. Already Alta hit 400 inches by the end of January, and the season's only halfway over! 28 days, and 18 of those have been legitimate powder days. This season is already becoming, to use an overused term, epic.
