Day 3: Abbreviated.

Surprisingly, my legs felt better today than they did yesterday after they had a one-day break on Friday. Rubbery, yes...but not painful, so I was more optimistic about skiing today than yesterday.

Weather, however, dashed that optimism. It was sprinkling on LCC Road up to Tanner's Flat, where it turned to snow. Folks obviously didn't get the message as there were no fewer than three cars down off the road along a half mile stretch of the Racetrack, one a good 40-50 feet into the woods. That wet slop was greasier than elephant snot. One guy parked next to me said that he did two 360s despite keeping it at 25 mph, yet managed to keep it on the asphalt.

I met up with Bobby Danger at the top of Chickadee and skied down to the Tram. Weather, however, was positively miserable. Skiing was by braille due to white snow, white sky and a glaze that stuck to the goggles, forcing us to stop every few hundred yards to scrape them clean. This is one of those days I wish that they made goggles with heated lenses and windshield wipers.

With fog all the way to the base, it just wasn't worth it and I headed home. About 50% of the folks parked next to me apparently had the same thought.

Still good to be out there! Bicycle riding weather here...and I still would have preferred to be skiing with you in the fog!

second ---- third & fourth trams were pretty good -- upper three quarters of the hill cleared off & it stopped riming (man the first run with admin every three hundred yards i had to stop ) . only big emma stayed foggy never cleared at the base of the hill . actually right reg out behind the snow cannons was pretty good towards pucker brush but not that far out !! no crowd anywhere a few people on big emma that's it . did a fifth tram and it started to really snow maybe an inch or so by the time i left .
