Day 59: Damned late spring snowstorms

They keep screwing up our corn cycles. I should've gone up earlier today, but I didn't. Oh, well, I lost one, but I saw 5" overnight and figured that it wouldn't be enough to cover up the crust. It was dense enough that it did. So dense, in fact, that the second you made a turn it instantly left bowling-ball sized balls of crud in your wake. Untracked was good, where you could find it. The rest of it was ridiculously dense piles of sludge.

I took two runs, one tram and one Little Cloud.

Rumor has it that it was better earlier. Even on the last run, though, Tele Jon was raving about how good it was...which left me wonder what kind of 'shrooms he's growing. Tomorrow should be better.

Oh, and when the kid cleaned out the truck last week, I hadn't realized that he removed my poles. A big shout-out to Christy Sports on the Tram Plaza, who loaned me a pair gratis. Thanks, guys!

early was the deal today. craig and i were done by noon. complete untracked with smooth underneath w/no rollers. guess it snowed an additional 4 inches at collins between 1-4 pm and temps had dropped from 35 to 26. game on for tomorrow at least in the smooth bc. we'll most likely be in the milli back bowl/wolverine area tomorrow as snowbird may be delayed for bc access from control work.

should just get bettah and bettah.

Which isn't too long after I got there. Like I said, should've gone earlier. #-o

Damn, that's tempting, but I'd hold you guys back in a big way on skins, and tomorrow's the only day I could.

marc,

if you get this tonight, tomorrows tour will be at a VERY reasonable pace. we have a newby with us and it will only be her 3rd day skinning-ever. she skied laps on patsy with us yesterday. we are gonna be at brighton starting at the base of the milli lift by about 6:30 am so as to not have to rush to ski great snow all morning. our 8 am start this morning was even a tad on the late side. if you want in, call my cell 774-487-2235.
