Snowmaking enhancements at Mt. Baldy, CA?

Hi,
I was hiking up in the Baldy area this past weekend and apparently they are building a new reservior to support more snowmaking (I'm assuming)? I vaguely recall a request for public comment on the USFS website, but haven't seen any sort of press releases, etc since.

Anyone here anything about this? Could this be a pre-cursor to the proposed Stockton Flats expansion that has been rumored since the early 90's??

Thanks!
Pete

All of us SoCal ski junkies dream about the Stockton Flats expansion. That will not happen until Baldy gets an equity investor.

Where is the new reservoir?

If you go straight out from the Notch to intersection where the road down to Lytle Creek and Devil's Backbone trail split, go right (instead of left towards Devil's Backbone) and its up a short ways on the left hand side, right on the edge of the out of bounds area. Ya can't miss it, its freakin' huge.

Yes, Mullin's Mile area. That's where I heard several years ago that another snowmaking reservoir might go. Does it cut off the Mullin's Mile trail, which is the extension of the Thunder Mt. Fire Road to the Notch you probably hiked? If so that's a problem when the beginner chair 2 is crowded or not running.
