Not much to report except that it has been snowing constantly since around Christmas day. Earlier this week it was dense, but now we're getting 6% stuff. We've had very light density snow often enough this season to think it's normal. Because we've been getting the northern branch of the jet, we're seeing much less tropical feed and the resultant high snow levels.
Today was a day to do battle with the holiday skier traffic, a trecherous parking lot, slow lifts and limited terrain. But man it was dumping and the snow was way deep.
After four runs I decided to high-tail it outa there before everyone started to get stuck in the lot. I'm also starting to feel out gunned by the skiers with their huge clown boards, so it was time to get a new "Big Wednesday" deck. Good thing I still get Christmas checks from my Mom and Dad, thanks you guys!
This was taken near the bottom of Outback just before the snow kicked in. We've had 50 inches this week. Today they reported a 120" pack at mid-mountain and 263" so far this La Nina season. Wow.
Now it's starting to snow. It wasn't any windier than usual but after yesterday's event back East it's no surprise to have slow lifts. The lines were getting big by our standards as several major lifts didn't open.
Here's my new ride, a 164 Capita Party Shark. Just about the ugliest thing there is but it is going to float my sorry a$$! I plastered stickers all over it. Pic taken in my party room, filled with about 500 LP's. Rock on.
