Started the morning with a wakeup call from Big Tim. Lets see if the road is closed. Met at the base of Baldy and jumped in his 4x4 just in case
Driving up
Got to the first road closed sign and drove around it.3 cars were just sitting there waiting?
Came to the second closed sign with a mad road worker yelling at everyone to turn around.Big Tim used his customer service skills/Ski Patrol name drop while I name dropped a Mountian employee and off we went
This is what he was worried about.
We ended up with our own semi private mountain for the day.Very nice.
Kick stepped to the top of Chair 2 from the lodge.
Big Tim heading down to Chair 3
At the top of Thunder Mountain looking at Catalina Island.A clear day for a change.
South Bowl had untracked lines the whole day thanks to the mad road worker.
More pics of the surrounding hills. We skied until we were full .That is a nice feeling to have.
Goldridge/SouthBowl/Robins Trees.
Finished the day with a cold one at the new Baldy Notch Bar.
Props to Baldy for getting open under the road closure issues.
