I now have the Southland Ski Server archives.
The good news is that they are very compact. Each report is about 2K manually edited in a couple of minutes or 6K if saved to html via Word.
The 50 odd reports of my own ski days at Mammoth and SoCal locals are now in html and can be posted to my own website, along with a directory. These run from 1995-96 into 2002-03. Southland did not accept pictures, so once I had a digital camera by spring 2003 all of my reports were posted to FTO.
I am reluctant to post these reports directly to FTO, as they will post with current dates rather than in the appropriate ski season. Admin says that he cannot modify the post date.
There are several hundred other reports in the file. Activity peaked in El Nino 1997-98 with 363 reports, but then declined to 124 in 2000-01 and 64 in 2004-05, the other good SoCal seasons.
I may post selected other reports to my website, but reading them, deciding which to use, then formatting, uploading etc. will be tedious and not particularly a high priority. Finding my own Southland reports was fairly efficient due to my independent record keeping.
Any input, suggestions, etc. for use of the Southland archived reports would be appreciated.
