Friday Ski Club splintered, with Jimmy Teardrop forced into work, mr rogers looking at a half day at MRG, and me stuck with my new sidekick, "Chuckwagon Glaser," at Stowe, Vermont. We played "Team Stöckli" -- I on my Stormrider IIs, Chuckwagon on his classic Stormrider Series I, size 184.

Stuck with Stöckli Chuck, indeed. Let's see if I can recap the runs, 36 hours later:

1) Octogon, Post Office, Lord, Easy Woods, Lord, Old Weasel Trail,Tyro to base.
2) Octogon to Matterhorn via Bruce and Burt
3) Matterhorn to former site of Stuberl via Village Shuttle
4) Little Spruce Chair, bypassing the usual woods bowl and staying on the powder chocked trail to Big Spruce
5) Big Spruce chair to Whirlaway to Sterling
6) Big Spruce chair to Whirlaway entrance to upper Main Street, Main Street right side.
7) Big Spruce chair to Whirlaway entrance to upper Main Street, Main Street left side.
8) Big Spruce chair to Smugglers to West Smugglers to base. Soup time.
9) Big Spruce chair to Whirlaway to Main Street Cross Cut 1 to Main Street left
10) Big Spruce chair to Smugglers side entrance to Upper Main Street right side to Side Street to Easy Street to Mountain Shuttle to Gondola. Bye-bye to Chuckwagon, as he had to go make dinner. Me, onto
11) Gondola and Perrt Merril to Cliff Trail to Nose Dive and Lower National.
12) Quad to Toll Road to Chapel Lane to Lullabye Lane

Let's see if I can recall the snow conditions: oh, yeah -- powder. Deep powder.

Knee deep powder in many places. All day, every run but the bus ride and those last two highly unnecessary runs back on Mansfield. Alp after lap, the best powder of the season thus far. All on trails. No woods required. Glades are for lumberjacks, not skiers. Skiers ski on trails, in untracked powder. At Stowe, on Fridays, with me and Chuck, with the Stormriders.

Friday Ski Club rules!
