Well, I tried. Drove out to Stowe this morning. The rain didn't really start until I got within a few miles of the resort. Left my gear in the car and went into the base lodge to find out that the quad wouldn't be starting at 8:00. It turns out the rain at the top of the mountain had washed away most of the snow from the unloading ramp of the quad. Around 8:45, the quad started so I headed out to my car to get my boots on so I could at least take one run. Looking up at the hill, there was a bare section in North Slope that covered the full width of the trail.

I sat in my car and with sheets of rain hitting my windshield and my car rocking back and forth from the wind when my inner wuss took over and I started the drive home. i'd imagine that once the rain stops, it might not be that bad. Yeah, there's still at least one bare section of trail (looked to be less than ski/board length). If the temps drop and they can make snow again, it should be even better.

There's road construction going on on the mountain road (108). They are putting in pipes of some sort. In a few spots it's down to one lane with flaggers stopping traffic. Judging by the piles of pipes laying around, it looks like this could be going on for a while.
