We went to Stowe and spent lots of money to ski icy manmade snow.

Trouble was, we couldn't find any. Lord knows we looked.

Mr. Weatherman and Ms Weatherlady were wrong again, yet everyone seemed to believe them. The place seemed pretty quiet.

Heck, I'd say even the Stake was wrong: today's report claimed only 3" new.

There was a lot more than 3". A heck of a lot more. Mostly kind of thick, creamy, windblown snow, such that fresh tracks were only half the fun. The other half the fun was skiing broken cut up powder bumps. Magic pillows of white that softened the descent, even on the toughest of trails.

Highlights: Starr and Chin Clip. Both open, top to bottom. It amazed us that a trail named after an insurance company executive could be so nice. We couldn't believe it was the same trail that
frightened us with icy death once last year; today it was pure heaven.

Tomorrow will probably be one of those "You should have been here yesterday" kind of days. Only we were, and will be again tomorrow to say "You should have been here yesterday"!"
