Densest powder I have skied in a week, but powder just the same. Precipitation was of the frozen variety all day until around 3:00 PM, at which point it became very light, misty and a little wet -- although it seemed to freeze on contact. The thermometer at the summit didn't seem to get about 20 degrees F. Looks to me like we will pull out of this light snain event once gain unscathed.

Snow conditions were generally awesome, with soft snow everywhere. I skied with my buddy Cruisin' Lew, so we mostly did big mambo cruiser, but the were as soft and buttery as Mel Torme on CD. Pokes into the woods revealed piles and piles of white stuff with a Swiss style yogurt consistency. Yum.

Lucky enough to be on the Toll House chair just as the first start numbers of the Stowe Derby came flying by. Pretty impressive to see folks on little skinny short Nordic skating skis flying down and around the tight curves of Toll Road in a full tuck.

Other than Derby competitors, the place seemed like a ghost town. We did lap after lap from 9:30 until the shut off the lifts and told us to go home.
