(Note from the Administrator: This report was originally posted on 3/21/00. I haven't waxed my board in like two weeks and I was still going faster than I have all season.

National is groomed bump-less (hoorah!) on skier's left from the top down to where you go under the Quad right near the end. It was the first time I hit National since I can remember. Everything else seems groomed very nicely. There's some ice on the steeper runs but it's not quite the Icy Death I saw a few weeks back. The snow was firm in the morning, and it started warming up right when I got there. By 10:00 AM, the west side of the mountain (?) with Gondolier and Perry was slowly turning into slush. The runs under the Quad were still nice though. And nosedive was fantastically flat and edgable. I'm guessing Chinclip is going soften up today (though folks say it was firm all day yesterday) too. No tree report today, I didn't make it in before I had to leave. The coverage in the woods was amazing, I didn't see very many bare spots. I guess Mansfield has more snow than I thought it did.

I'm wondering why I haven't been going up to Stowe more recently with these conditions, in fact.

Bring sun screen, and be sure you have a t-shirt handy when you realize the fleece is just too hot.
