I live near Albany, NY and because I wanted as little driving time as possible it was a choice between Hunter or Stratton. That said ...

Visibility was low due to the cloud cover that engulfed the entire upper mountain. There was so much moisture I didn't use my goggles, and don't know how anyone could with all the beads of water all over the lens'. The weather felt Spring-like with temps in the upper 30's at least.

Grizzly, Polar & Black Bear, and North American were open with conditions ranging from soft & creamy to spots of hard pack. Groomed Stratton smooth, the skiing was a blast for me. I'm still a bit gun-shy with my left leg, and these trails are just the ticket to helping gaining more confidence.

I'm amazed with the fact it's almost all fake snow. Is it possible that the artificial snow blown today is a better quality than that of 20 years ago?

Extremly happy to ski in November. . .I don't remember skiing before Dec. as a kid. There was light rain at the base around noon when I left. All and all, a great morning!

"Fake-snow will get you though times of no money, better than money will get you through times of no
snow."
