Decided to try Tahoe before heading East.
A very warm day. Clouds followed by clearing and sun. Temps close to 55/60.
Snow was very soft/wet due to rain/snow mix and temps.
Some patrollers said Sugar Bowl got nearly 5" of rain during the last storm with some snow on top. Supposedly all of Tahoe got rain with snow levels near 10,000 ft.
The base was OK (2-3 feet seems fair). No coverage on anything south facing. West faces were a little weak. North facing was decently covered above 7000. There were many boulders/rocks visible. Easy to ski around, but usually not visible.
Overall, skiing was OK-to-good. The main runs off Lincoln/Disney are covered and fun. The expert terrain is maybe half open and rocky. Judah was OK.
Hopefully the expected colder storms will change this.
