We've had temperatures as high as the low 80s in the SF Bay Area and into the mid to high 60s at Tahoe and Truckee in the last week. Since my wife and son both had Friday off and I have a lot of lift tickets to use, we were committed to going. We picked up my son's friend and left San Jose at 6:15 and arrived Sugar Bowl about 9:30. Since my son did not pack his ski pants, I let him board in mine and I skied in jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt. My wife regretted that she put her ticket on a fleece jacket as she was too warm.

We took a couple of quick runs on Jerome Hill lift and found the snow was in good shape as the lows have been 28 the last few nights. I moved over to Disney where the lower East side was almost too soft, but the top and the Nose was in good shape. I got into the Nose Chutes too early and chattered my way past the rocks. Nobody was skiing lookers right on Lincoln chair until well after noon as the snow stayed firm. I went for one run on Lincoln and found it a little firm so I took one more run off Disney into Nancy's Colouir which was very good in the middle. I went toward the 58s at 2 pm and had to find a sunny gully to avoid the firm snow. We quit at 3:30 and I totaled 20 runs and 19.9K vertical. I'll post the rest of the trip tomorrow.
