Arrived at SB on Sunday expecting to find much smaller crowds than Stowe the previous day. Did not expect to find the mountain practically deserted at 9 am. No significant lift lines encountered all day except at Castlerock. The woods need more cover but are doable. Plenty of powder was to be found in Paradise after a bit of hiking at the top. Did not drop into Slidebrook although we overheard that this area is in decent shape. The bump runs like Stein's and under the lynx triple were fun - soft and forgiving but with grass and rocks showing through by noon. The woods left of Stein's were pretty good - it looks as if some lumberjacks practiced their trade in these woods during the off-season (thanks). It's easier to find unpleasant stuff buried under the snow right now at SB than at either Stowe or Jay which figures since SB gets the least snow of the three.

"No significant lift lines encountered all day except at Castlerock."

does this mean that the new castlerock lift is running, or were these the lines to hike over the LT to castlerock? last i heard they were having trouble with the lift...

thanks for any clarification
