i'm heading out to summit county for around 10 days mid to late december and im wondering about lift ticket prices. Im looking to ski breck, copper, a-basin, vail, are there any student ticket prices? and if not what are the cheapest ticket options?

That's tough. It costs a lot of money to ski out here, and there aren't a lot of student discounts. You can ski loveland way cheaper than everywhere else, you can get a loveland card for something like 30 bucks and if your here in a week or two it comes with a free lift ticket. After that you get real cheap lift tickets, like under 40 bucks. I don't know of a single colorado resort that has student discounts, but there may be one.

You should probably pre-buy your tickets for vail, go to http://vail.snow.com/pb.lifttickets.asp and drop your jaw at how expensive it still is. If you get lodging from vail they'll discount you as well at http://reservations.snow.com/index.asp. Yes this place is rediculously expensive, but don't come to CO and not ride there at least once.

This may sound silly, but you might make out better actually buying an Arapahoe Basin bonus seasons pass. For $230 you get unlimited at A-Basin plus 5 days at keystone & breck, one of which can be used at vail. So you could spend a day at vail, 2 at keystone, 2 at breck, and the rest at abasin. Something to think about. But you might take that one day at vail and really wish you could go back the next day. Also, you can spend a day at breck and use the same lift ticket for night skiing at keystone, if your legs can take it. If you fly united, you can get a free lift ticket to Vail. I think united.com/ski, there should be a link at vails website.

Basically, there aren't any real good deals out here that i've found. But if you buy ahead of time its comperable to what you'd pay back east. The resorts don't need to entice people with deals, they're packed to the brim already...

Good Luck

Buying a A-Basin season pass is probably the way to go. If they are still even selling them. I would suggest next time around if you know by November that you are coming out for 10 days is to just buy a season pass. The A-Basin, Keystone, Breck, with 10 days at Vail and Beaver creek pass is right around $300.00.

Right now with you coming out for ten days you will spend at least that much most likely more. Unless you break your lift addiction and do some backcountry. Plenty of that around, and a lot better than riding at the resorts, imo.

You're best best bet might be to buy tickets in Denver and the local grocery stores, King Soopers and Safeway. They are a pretty good discount off of the window prices. You are still going to get popped for $40+, I would guess. Some areas are offering 4 passes, you may try hitting the websites of all the Front Ranges areas and seeing if you can find any deals.

you might want to check out craigslist.org, click on Denver then "tickets".
Last year I got some great deals in the spring on Copper and Keystone tix there. It looks like there's some now...good luck!

you can pick up discounted tickets, $40/day from Wildernest Outfitters in Silverthorne, in the Office Max plaza. They're good for skiing Vail Resorts in Summit County. First come, first served. Doubt you could get 5 days in a row.

In general if you can pick up tickets for that price in Silverthorn they are probably $2-$4 cheaper in the front range at the local Grocery stores. If you are going through the Denver area stop at a King Soopers or Safeway, it'll be worth your while, otherwise the Silvethorne thing will probably be the best deal going.
