Wow, that was a fantastic weekend! I've been skiing almost 50 years and it's hard to remember a Thanksgiving with that much quality.
Today started with a typical MtB report: 2" overnight, 1" yesterday (but a foot yesterday AM). Upon closer inspection (report: deeper in spots) and a sprinkle of local knowledge (leeward aspects+ wind transport), I knew it was gonna be good. They even mentioned 6%, first time I've seen them quote any percentages.
We have excellent tree riding here. It's a subject I don't mention much, probably because I take it for granted. Ever gone tree skiing at Sun Valley? Are you kidding? You can't get skinny enough to fit through those woods. Today I imagined I had a helmet cam so I could show you how user friendly it was.
Here is a little opening over off West Boundry. Usually I hit it on run #2 on pow mornings. Not super deep like yesterday, but nice and soft.
I spun around and snapped this terrain photo from the same spot. It was 19 degrees, snowing fairly hard, delightfully quiet.
I know this little shot, right off Coffee. Lots of times I'm poking around and I think, "wow, I've never been in here before". Ah, the mellow bliss of advancing age...
