I'm driving to a work meeting and Matt Wilson, a customer, calls and says he and Rick Peters are going to Tam for some backcountry skiing. I quickly U-turn and head home to get my stuff. Winter is still here in Central Oregon and the now skeletal remains of Mt Bachelor is barely open. They reported 13" overnight, or last weekend or whatever, but there was almost two inches in my yard this morning so that was a good sign. I guess they have over 160" at mid-mountain so I would close it so no one hits any rocks! We had 540"+ for the year, similar to what Snowbird got.
We drove to the upper snow park that accesses Three Creeks Lake and Tam McArthur Rim, a local backcountry stash. There's nothing steep open at the ski area so we were forced to come here. We snowmobiled up to the lake and then skinned up to the rim for a couple of runs. It was pretty good today.
