As one who is outspoken in warning against Taos in early season, I should point out that it has all the attributes for excellent late season skiing: high altitude, mostly north exposure and steep terrain. It's seems a waste for Taos to close first weekend of April, and it's nice to see them go another week this year.
Taos has also had 129% of normal snow this season, so the final two weeks should have excellent skiing. I also noted when the big January storms hit that Taos was "ready for prime time" earlier than normal this year.
