Wow! I couldn't ask for more from a lesser known mountain than I received from Tenney. This was my first stint to Tenney on my quest to ski every area in New England. I arrived just before 9:00am and the parking lot was still empty! I parked in the first row, and trekked to the lodge. A beautiful sunny, warm day with tons of snow... not bad for March.

The ride to the top of Tenney's 1400' vert could be called a right of passage of sorts... it's a long ride on an older Stadeli double chair with lattice towers. Even with that stellar capacity, there was barely a lift line! Just the way I like it.

The snow conditions were excellent. I believe it to be the case because the slopes aren't destined to overski like more popular destinations. The snow was hard in the morning, but it softened up into a near perfect ski surface by 10:00am.

Tenney's plethora of disorganized trails offer a classic new england ski experience that is quite aventuresome. There isn't really any challenging terrain on the hill, but it's a great mountain for beginners and intermediates that like to cruise!

--csb
