Day 5: Happy Thanksgiving!

It is, indeed, now that after three days last weekend in flat light we had bluebird skies for today's holiday. Bobby Danger, Skidog and I hooked up with Sam, Dean and after a few runs Cam, a New Hampster who worked as an Alta liftie until this season. Runs of the day were out on Baldy Shoulder and a first few trips of the season out Backside. West Rustler below the Saddle Traverse was smooth and chalky, but the same couldn't be said for dropping into it off of the High Traverse for the upper part was still rather stiff and required some judicious line choice. The High T, too, is now showing a few chocolate chips showing through in places that require a bit of care.

Hopefully it'll snow again by Sunday if this next storm doesn't skirt by too far to our north. They're now hinting, however, at a pattern change by the end of the month.

I rebooted my phone while riding Sugarloaf so today's track is split in two.

happy thanksgiving - day 8---- perfect visi. today , it's better skiing when it's snowing i.m.o. , but sunny days now and then are nice to . especially after a slight wind event , not an 80m.p.h. event but an event that did move a good amount of snow into alot of the low spots were smoooothed off nicely . backside skied very smooth- tombstone the same- west rustler the same- ballroom the same - regulator johnson the left side was hospital speed material to the flats- macaroni chute down through silver fox was for me the best run of the day , cold steep chaulk with a bit of ground up buff snow.

And we followed it up with a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared by Marc_C.

Grilled marinated shrimp on avocado-cucumber puree with Asian calamari salad, grilled endive, red tobiko, and yuzu chilli sauce.

The entree was herb crusted roast rack of lamb on a blueberry-cabernet reduction, grilled veg, and pan roasted potatoes.

There was also roasted carrot-ginger-honey soup, a mixed greens salad with heirloom tomato vinaigrette and Maytag blue cheese, and apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream.

sounds great..kind of surprised the liquid from the cucumber didn't cause the puree to brake..

didn't know you could find such high end ingredients in Utah.. 8) :stir:

Acidulate with ponzu plus a little olive oil and salt. Coupled with the fat of the avocado and a good bit of time in the food processor the emulsion is pretty stable. I also used an English seedless cuke, which has less water than the usual cuke.
