Due to very mild temps and the possibility of H2Oing over the next two days they are delaying opening until Dec 8th. No I do not know how this will effect the 24hrs race but I will find out for you.

This is the message I received from Station Mont Tremblant

"The mild temperatures, which continue, are again forcing us to delay the start of ski season. The opening date is planned for Tuesday, December 8th or as soon as we are sure that snow conditions are in line with our high quality standards so that our guests can enjoy their experiences on the snow.

We are extremely conscious of any inconvenience caused by this situation, which is beyond our control. Please be assured that Tremblant is doing everything possible to offer the best experience by offering many different activities for the whole family and entertainment in the village.

Thank you for your understanding,

The Management – Station Mont Tremblant"

Yes, it seems everyone is a few weeks behind in the east this season. No worries yet, just a bit of frustration.
There will be a period of cold air coming to the east this weekend and snow possibly midweek (chances are better for Tremblant etc. with that system) but looking at the long range modeling I am not yet convinced that we are locking into a sustained cold type winter pattern.
None the less temps should be at least cold enough for a few days of decent snow making across N. New England and Eastern Canada.
