Below identifies an opportunity for you to "Meet the Man" Thurs. 1 May at Squaw Valley & "Celebrate the Achievement." The Association of
Professional Patrollers (APP), which runs the Certified Patroller program, which all NSP members can participate in, is hosting the APP Spring Clinic
next week at Squaw and presenting a lifetime achievement award to Warren
Miller Thursday evening. Warren Miller has done sooo much to promote skiing and the ski industry - lets be there for him this time and celebrate with him...

He brought to the screen the experience of skiing, the sense of freedom even to those who don't or cannot ski. He brought understanding about skiing to the world!

I don't know who all an show up, but, no doubt, not just ski patrol. This news came to me from NSP (paatrol) but, I am sure it is not limited to just those folks at this celebration. You can contact Squaw Valley no doubt. Admin will probably send me an email with those kittens and a link to some article I have not read. Back off, 13 hours in the ER and studying! I could use a celebration!

Additionally, the National Ski Patrol turns 70 (1938-2008) and this summer they are upscalling the Summer Board of Directors Meeting to also Celebrate this anniversary. This announcement, copied below, resides on http://www.nsp.org, and is within the ski patrol magazine.

The article's not quite ready, but will publish shortly, probably tomorrow.

Warren has historically been quite accessible. I thought it was a great privilege to chat with him when he was promoting the Yellowstone Club at NASJA 2001. Yet there he was a year and a half later manning the booth at the L.A. Ski Dazzle show and talking with anyone who happened to stroll by.

But I think he's about 84 now, so no doubt less active.
