A beautiful day in the Ravine. We departed Pinkham Notch at 8:30 and headed up the Ravine trail. Encountered snow right off the bat, which was a good sign. Made it to HoJo's at 10:00 and were at Lunch Rocks at 11:00. Not a lot of people in the bowl, probably less than 100.

"Suited up" for yesterday was defined as t-shirts and shorts. It was about 60 degrees in the bowl and bright sunshine was the order of the day. There is a ton of snow in the ravine, but the heat of this week is beginning to show it's toll. Crevasses are beginning to form on the Lip and Headwall as the wet snow settles and exposes the rocks below. According to the snow report, the crevasse at the waterfall on the lip is currently 80 feet deep. That's a lot of snow!

We kicked our way up the Lobster Claw and bushwacked up the Lion's Head Trail to the base of the Snowfields. After a bit of a water break, we pushed off around 12:45 and headed down. The snow was wet and creamy, perfect spring corn! We skied the Snowfields and then picked our way around the lip, ending up in the bowl at Lunch Rocks.

The Little Headwall waterfall has undermined the crossing to HoJo's so we decided to climb up and out via Hillman's Highway. We climbed up the Left Gully and crossed over to the top of Hillman's, arriving about 3:00.

Hillman's was superb, with perfect corn snow and a great pitch. We were able to ski down on the Sherburne Trail about halfway to Pinkham Notch. My boots were like two aquariums, filled with water!

Made it to the base at 4:00 and headed home.

All-in-all, a great day. 91 degrees at the base as we departed for home.
