How busy do you think Snowbird will be with no where else open?

I'd expect no more than normal. Most folks around here are done for the year.

At the Bird all day. Sick, sick sick sick sick! Although tram laps were long, I've never had longer and more untracked at the Bird EVER. Not sure if it was because it was just snowing so hard or because I was skiing with a different crew in different spots but it was epic. Got there at 11 and left at 3:30 on the nose. We got five leg burning tram laps in and I was happy with that. Laps took about 45 min. Tram line went through the maze, back out the long way around the building and out onto the plaza. The lines were worth it, all smiles all day. Took only a few pictures today because we were more concerned about skiing untracked.

Squaw had 30" from this week's storm, that is over in CA. I heard KT had lines all day on Wed. as only it, Exhibition and Red Dog were open.

I stand corrected. The problem is that Gadzoom and Peruvian are done for the year, so the Tram's the only route up the mountain in the a.m. I received word this morning that the Tram line was a full maze, around the building, across the Tram Plaza and out the skier bridge.

I was going to mention that. Saturday will be at least as bad if they don't run at least one of those chairs. Mammoth nearly always runs more chairs in May on weekends than midweek. I do recall Gadzoom running later than this in 2005 at least.

All true but best day of the year right now. Peruvian opened at 930 only line all day has been on the tram. The move has been peruvian up through the tunnel and back up top. Laps all day. More tracked out then yesterday. Time to get back on the lift

(day67 biblical) i agree with mbaydala that was the real move today !! the tunnel was for foot traffic only the tram line was enormous ! skiing in mineral basin was sweet but vis was a bit of an issue for some folks especially the top half of mineral about half way down the clouds thinned but it was still snowing never really stopped but varied in intensity . couple of minerals and a right reg. and an actual restuarant row shot ( hour glass ) back to little cloud chair into mineral again except this time upon arrival at hidden peak i departed for the baldy traverse ! all the way out to the rope line at alta upon arrival there i find a backcountry gate snowbird has never put a backcountry gate there before (armpit gate ) !! with all the proper warnings about going beyond here . most people that i saw were going down the rope and then dropping into alta instead of going through the tiny slot that the patrol left in the rope . don't ski under the ropes!! three full length tombstones - santa clause chute - two wildcat trees and there's no more rope lines on the hill below punch bowl between alta and snowbird so knowing where to go is key . last run of the day was santa clause chute off west rus untracked chest deep facing due west amazing !!! every turn made in alta was chest deep - skied to the base area and walked back to snowbird not caring how long it took after that experience . skied a condo run in one of those wildcat tree runs instead of going through the ho gate . (probably the best run of the year through there certainly # 1 or 2 of the seasons deepest runs) . going to need snorkels by sunday if this keeps up !!!!!!

Impressive. This will be the 4th year of the past 6 with some fresh powder in LCC the first weekend in May. It is interesting to compare Mammoth and LCC skiing in the spring. Through most of this April Mammoth has had the better of it. But not now.

Simply put today was the greatest ski day of my life. This may only be my 5th year out here but this was hands down the best storm skiing day ever. Skied Baldy at 3:25 and it was almost, no it was just as good as my first tracks down there this morning. May have had a few more tracks but in NO way was it even a little bit less fun. This is what I expected out of LCC during that monster April 5-7 storm, didn't get it last time, but for sure got it this time. Looks like another 10-16 on Saturday night. God I love my life right now! \:D/
