Upcoming SLC trip 2/9-13/2012

I'm flying into SLC midday Thurs., 2/9/2012 for a few days of skiing. I plan to ski one of the Park City resorts Thurs. afternoon (Using Quick Start Promo):

The weather forecast is a little dicey at this pt. (above avg. Temps, below avg. Precip. for the period): http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/p ... ns/610day/
Hopefully that will improve.

I'm meeting a friend for a day at Snowbird on Friday. I'm open for suggestions thereafter, and would enjoy doing some turns with others from the Liftlines forums. I finally sprang for decent skis (Black Diamond Zealots), and hope to put them to good use.

I'll be staying with friends in Fruit Heights, so Snowbasin and Powder Mtn. are also on my radar.

I should be at DV on Thu afternoon. If you like, we can meet up.

Canyons might seem like a better choice on a shortened day since it's closer to SLC but I've seen the groomers there deteriorate quickly absent new snow. Plus, it's one thing to get to Canyons and another to get to skiing at Canyons.

We'll be in LCC per usual both Saturday and Sunday. The meeting place/time is around 8:45-50 a.m. at the east end of the solarium in the Gold Miner's Daughter café.

While the quickstart promo is a nice deal..I managed to get a half day in at Alta after I landed at 10:30..even after waiting 20 minutes for the skis and the usual BS at the car rental..conditions will be better there..

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this trip after all, due to recent physical symptoms (headaches, swollen eyelids and sores above and around my right eye) which turned out to be evidence of Shingles. I'm feeling better than I was, but the swelling is still there, as are the sores, so I decided to not make the trip at this time.

Thanks much to those who responded. I do look forward to skiing with as many of you as I can in the future. I may still try to squeeze in a trip to SLC this season, once my symptoms dissipate (and hopefully some more storms come through).
