USB cable for Suunto S6, any experience ...

Merry Christmas to all! I was lucky enough to be gifted a Suunto s6 today and in examining it discovered that the serial cable it comes with uses a 9-pin serial connection, not USB.

Suunto sells a USB adaptor on its website, but for $50.

Was wondering if anyone has just bought a 9-pin to USB adaptor at Comp USA or someplace and had it work for them? Thanks!

Congrats, ondeadlin! You'll love the device.

Yep, I use an iConcepts Serial-to-USB adaptor that I had lying around from when I bought one to work with a GPS unit that's now long-since lost. Works fine.

I've gotta admit First Tracks fueled my lust for the Suunto. Huge kudos for all the knowledge you guys share with the masses.

I'm really fired up to try it out in the coming weeks.
