I know I haven't been much of a participant on the forum recently. Between work and work, it's hard to find time right now. Furthermore, the path that I have followed the past few years really hasn't allowed me to ski.
I'm going skiing this year. If but a few days... and if I'm only going to ski a few days, then why not in Utah (I know Tony is applauding somewhere out west). Long story short:
My father called and he told me that he is due for a hip replacement surgery. He then went on and said that he would like to go out to Utah the first week of March, prior to the surgery. At first I told him that I didn't think it was a good idea. I will be recording an album in March, and frankly, bodily injury just isn't an option right now. However, I could tell that he really wanted to go (I think more for the speed-skating). I also think he misses the trips we used to take together. After talking to my wife, I acquiesced, and said I would go.
I have my worries. Among them are the obvious ones like injury etc.... but the diversion of skiing can be difficult, if not dangerous (it's addictive) when you're working at building a career. That being said, I'm so very much looking forward to hitting the slopes for the first time in years. I just hope there is isn't a powder day to ruin my psyche.... Daydreaming about living in Utah and nailing virgin lines just ain't healthy.
Utah... first week of march... I'll be there.
