Utah Interconnect ???

Has anyone done the so-called "Utah Interconnect"? I've read about it before in ski magazines and read the information on the Ski Utah website. Apparantly, it is a one-day trip that starts in Deer Valley, goes to Park City, then heads OB over to Solitude and Brighton, then OB again over to Alta and then ends at Snowbird. (There is also a trip that starts in Snowbird). The cost seems quite reasonable to me. I'm going to be in Park City in February and would like to do this trip - the one that starts at Deer Valley. I understand it is a great trip and quite beauitul. However, I'd like to hear some feedback from people who may have done it. Specifically, I'd like to know the difficulty of the skiing (I'm a fairly strong, expert skier but with limited powder skiing experience - I live and ski mostly in the East; should I rent "powder skies" for the trip- I now ski on Volkl Supersport Allstars-not exactly powder skis); the difficulty of the traverses and uphill climbs (I'm a 50-year old male, in decent shape, but planning to get in better shape before the trip); and any other information that might be relevant. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Seek and ye shall find - I did the trip in 2004 before moving here, although I did a different loop than your preferred route:

You'll find there text, photos and video.

Yes, use different skis - powder skis would be recommended, especially as your deep snow experience is limited. There was no climbing involved, just healthy traversing in places, so almost everyone was on alpine gear. Funny, but since moving here I've bumped into the group while skiing out in the sidecountry between Alta and Brighton.

The cost is very reasonable, the guides terrific, and the day wonderful - I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the info. I did look at the link. It looks like a great trip and quite reasonable too in terms of cost. I think I'll try to do it, with the trip from Deer Valley over to Snowbird. I need to get in better shape, but this will be good motivation. How difficult are the skiing conditions? I realize it depends on snow conditions.
