Hello,

I am a Killington local and have heard about this site from some friends on a another forum.

I am planning a last minute trip THIS coming weekend Thur to Sunday to either Tahoe or Utah. Tickets are NOT booked yet and I am waiting for last minute weather reports to decide.

Tahoe obviously got dumped and Utah may get significant snow later this week.

Does anyone have any insights as to how much snow Utah is supposed to get.

The choice is to hunt for freshies after this early week storm in Tahoe or get the "chance" for freshies in Utah with the possibility of an upcoming storm. Will there be goods in Tahoe still left?

What would you do based on current conditions and forecast?

THanks!!!!

I wouldn't expect Utah's snowfall this week to be "significant," but I've been wrong before. Tahoe's snow from the current storm is reportedly very, very wet, mixed with rain at the base.

And welcome to FTO!

It is rather unusual for the Sierra to get slammed this hard but Utah to get little. Need I mention again that I'm driving to Utah this Saturday?

You can see the storm moving on a SW-to-NE direction. Thus the moderately high snow levels in the Sierra. Mammoth, Kirkwood, Mt. Rose, upper half of Heavenly rate to be in great shape. This is the unusual storm track that might dump on otherwise relatively dry Sun Valley, compared to most that head directly east to Utah.

I just booked my flight from NYC to Reno. Thurs and come back Monday on the redeye.

Squaw Friday.
Back Country Saturday on Sleds with guides.
Not sure what we will do Sunday. If BC is good, then we will do that again, if not, then maybe Alpine Meadows.

I hope the storms keep coming....
