Hello all,
Love this site. I always find it so informative and entertaining. That being said, I need some advice again please. Two years ago I inquired about my first trip to Utah (where to stay and which mtns etc.). It was a boys trip and we ended up staying in Sandy which was perfect. We hit Canyons first (free with boarding pass from flight that morning), then Solitude, Brighton, and then Snowbird. Canyons was Saturday of MLK weekend 05. A bit crowded (not so much from east coast perspective of course
). The other resorts had no crowds. Needless to say we had a blast at all of them. This MLK weekend, me and the boys are coming to Utah again and want to hit Snowbasin and Powder. We are only coming for 3 and half days and want to try something new (Deer Valley and Alta are out for us). We are thinking of staying in Ogden. From what I have read it seems that would give us best option of cheeper lodging and more dining/pub choices. Last time out we rented SUV. My first question, if we just plan on hitting these two, is it possible through public transportation to do so without a vehicle? Second part of this long diatribe: Over Presidents day week, I am thinking of coming out with wife, son (one year old), and sister in law, plus possible another family. For this trip I want to stay in Park City. The resort town atmosphere is a big plus for this one for a variety of reasons. Nubmer one and most important, my wife and I will switch on and off between being on the mtn and watching our son so being in town will offer some nice freedom. Plus, unfortunately, the girls like to shop. I have read that Park City can get crowded. My experience at the Canyons has me a bit apprehensive that this may be true. In your experiences how crowded during the week/end of Presidents day? I don't know how much traveling we will do from here. Maybe, one day I will be the extra cool dad and let both ladies hit Deer Valley while i chill with the little one (they both ski). Thanks for any info. Looking forward to getting back out there.
