Day dawned mostly blue sky but quickly got overcast and eventually decent snow falling. Vail had only had 3" of new snow since the warm up leaving the back bowls with a crust with essentially dust on top. We stuck to the groomed areas mostly in the south facing bowls, but spent much more time in blue sky most of the morning where the snow never got affected. By afternoon it was snowing at a decent rate picking up 2 to 3 inches. Due to the low visibility we stuck to the front side hitting game creek, wildwood and eventually northwoods where we had come up in the am from golden peak. A nice day on mostly good snow, though the light was flat for a chunk of the time. Vail is reporting 7" this am as the next storm cycle covers up any remaining damage over the next couple of days.
