Ironically enough, I spent my thanksgiving in lake tahoe and was asking the exact reverse as to what the issue is here. No issue, just thinking about my schedule and when I can get into Colorado. It sometimes is open before Heavenly, not always. They both Rock! More powder to the people who want it. I am in the Northeast, temporarily. Never met so many folks who hate snow in my life, except the last time I was in the Northeast! Not a lot of skiers in my world here.
Anywho,
The past 5 years or so,
Vail Ski Resort has had a huge early season. I've skied opening day and it was 2-3 feet of powder bliss.
Breckenridge Ski Resort, by Thanksgiving, also tends to be good. They just got 17 inches the other day so that should help ad a good base if it doesn't warm up to quick.
Keystone is hit or miss. Check the last minute weather reports for this one.
Winter Park & Mary Jane Resort seem to have their own climate system cause snow bearing clouds seem to stall right on top of the resort and unleash.
Steamboat Springs should also have good snow, but it's not as easy to get to.
Good luck!
