I arrived at the gate at 6:20 and put my skis on my pack and shuffled over via the Mt Wachusett Auto Road on sneakers. I snuck over to upper Smith's and found nice soft snow for some generous vertical. I then skinned up as foar as I could on Conifer and had a great run almost down to the tongue of the Wa-Wa Glacier where I found some dicey snowbridges. Not wanting to punch through into the dark bowels of the glacier, I wisely stopped and skinned back up. Nice sunset especially with the distant Monadnock silhouetted. Still some generous amounts of snow on the mountain and enough to make several turns and have fun.
