Mt Bachelor is scheduled to open November 20, a long week away. I've seen the mountain open with way less snow. We're at a solid 17" and it was snowing moderately at 28 degrees when I left. Snow is forecast through the weekend.
Schubwa likes it when he gets to ski. Today Century Drive from Dutchman to Todd Lake was groomed by Tumalo Langlauf Club. It was the first day you could skate ski on groomers so that's what I did.

The author using V-2 Alternate technique to ski down to the Todd Lake turnoff. So far this season I've classic (diagonal stride) skied twice in October, and went snowboarding last weekend. Nice early conditions this year.
Gary Klingler uses V-1 to grind his way back up to the top. Skate skiing is hard! But it pays huge fitness rewards and is great to do early while the pack builds up across the street. Or all winter if you're crazy like us.
Pine Martin was running for maintenance. Made me want to go grab my gear. I think we are going to have some really good conditions come opening day next week.
